The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) held a public meeting of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) between July 29 and August 2 to review the draft risk evaluations for cyclic aliphatic bromide cluster (HBCD) and 1,4-dioxane. The EPA will use the scientific advice, information and recommendations from the SACC, as well as public comments, to inform the final risk evaluations of these two substances. This is the second SACC meeting of 2019 and there will be several more through the end of the year as the EPA completes its evaluation of the first 10 chemicals.
