Event Info
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently issued a final rule on “Made in USA” and other unqualified U.S.-origin claims on product labels, which becomes effective on August 13, 2021.
The rule codifies FTC’s previous decisions and prohibits manufacturers and marketers from making “Made in USA” claims on labels unless: (1) Final assembly or processing of the product occurs in the U.S., (2) all significant processing that goes into the product occurs in the U.S., and (3) all or virtually all ingredients or components of the product are made and sourced in the U.S.
These updates could have a significant impact on your products. Experts from Holland & Knight will provide context regarding origin claims, discuss domestic preference programs when selling to the government, and explain enforcement and compliance of this new rule so your business is prepared.
