International Code Council (ICC) holds Committee Action Hearings
May 8, 2018
The International Code Council (ICC) held its Committee Action Hearings (CAH) from April 15-23 in Columbus, Ohio. Nicholas Georges, Director of Scientific Affairs attended the hearings alongside other HCPA representatives. HCPA proposed new codes to expand on the allowance of aerosol products in plastic containers to include those that meet code definition of Plastic Aerosol 3 for the 2021 edition International Fire Code (IFC). This proposal was approved by the committee and was moved to a public comment period.
HCPA and its representatives also sought to ensure that the 1100 code proposal to the ICC did not negatively impact member companies during this code cycle. HCPA has historically had an integral role in helping to develop and maintain National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and international fire and building codes since the 1980s.
