The Household & Commercial Products Association’s (HCPA) Senior Director, Scientific & International Affairs, Nicholas Georges, attended a Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) meeting on September 5 in preparation for the 27 Meeting of the Dangerous Goods Panel (DGP/27) held by the International Civil Aviation Organizations (ICAO). The DGP/27 is currently underway in Montreal, Canada through September 20.
In the meeting, PHMSA solicited input from the public on harmonizing the ICAO dangerous goods provisions with the United Nations (UN) Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, managing air-specific safety risks and identifying anomalies, and discussing other proposals submitted to ICAO’s Dangerous Goods Panel.
HCPA will continue to play an active role prior to the DGP/27.
